Consecutive interpreting involves rendering the spoken word into another language after the speaker has finished. Using a precise note-taking technique, the interpreter records longer sections of the speakers address and renders it in the target language in full once the speaker has finished. Consecutive interpreting is used for events with a small number of participants (dinner-table speeches, evening events, etc.), where only two working languages are being used.
